Natural Health Products (NHP/NPN)

LICENSED TO MEET SAFETY, QUALITY AND EFFICACY STANDARDS

Natural health products (NHPs) such as vitamins, minerals, herbal remedies, homeopathic medicines and probiotics are subject to Health Canada’s Natural Health Products Regulations that require NHPs to meet standards of safety, quality and efficacy before they can be sold in Canada.

NHPs also require a Health Canada site licence, which authorizes the manufacturer, packager, labeller, importer or distributor of NHPs to conduct these activities in compliance with the government regulations.
